EU Countries Declare Readiness For Trade Negotiations With US

The countries of the European Union jointly decided to start official negotiations with the United States, Reuters reports.

Trade negotiations will begin with a delay of several months, due to the position of France, whose authorities expressed disagreement with the rest of the EU members. As a result, the majority of governments voted to start negotiations.

A special commission, which coordinates the trade policy of the EU, proposes to work in two directions: first, this is the topic of reducing tariffs for industrial products, and secondly, the assistance to companies manufacturing goods that meet EU or US standards.

Particular attention will be paid to civil aviation, Airbus aircraft, and their components. The list includes also dairy products, seafood, wine, and a range of other products.
