Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, promised in a TV speech to restore Notre-Dame de Paris, the burnt symbol of the country, over the next five years, Reuters reports.

The disastrous fire, in which the roof of the French architectural monument of world importance almost completely burned down, occurred on Monday, April 15. The country’s head hopes the tragedy will unite the French, and they will jointly assist in the cathedral reconstruction.

Notre-Dame de Paris will be even more beautiful, it will take about five years, Macron stated. He added that the tragedy should be a source of concern for the nation about the way of further development and do everything to become better.

Many countries, large companies, businessmen, and cultural figures responded to the disaster and promised to provide financial assistance in the cathedral restoration.
